Julian Gold Rush Hotel

This was a marvelous experience. It was our first time in Julian and the hotel was one of the best experiences. You feel like you are entering in a different era. It allows you to rest and enjoy your partner's company without the noise of the modern world. Also, honestly the best sleep that I have had in months. The town becomes quite after 6pm, so the environment is really nice to rest. The rooms are small but cozy. Don't expect a TV or other tech outside the wifi. Simplicity at its best is what you will find. I will definitely come back when I have the opportunity.

My girlfriend and I Just spent 2 days and one night at this adorably cozy bed & breakfast. It was my first time visiting Julian, and I wish I was still there! The staff were friendly and very accommodating! When you enter, there are a couple of very lovely sitting rooms with books and games as well as menus to all cafes and restaurants located there. Rooms were on the smaller side, but I honestly feel that's a big part of the charm it provides! The parlor room was very spacious with a large assortment of games and refreshments were provided during the evening social hours which was nice. One of the best things about the hotel is that they uphold the privacy of each guest and unless you're staying there, you cannot just simply walk in without speaking with one of the attending managers which may seem inconvenient being that the establishment is a historical site amongst many other building in town, but the attention to detail is positive. Overall, we had such a wonderful time though brief, but we will be staying there again on our next visit which was planned to make it a yearly trip. Thank you, to the staff of the Gold Rush!

This is our 5th time staying here and I would never stay anywere else in Julian. I can not say enough about how wonderful all the staff are, so friendly and accommodating. The decor is perfect and I love the fact that there is no TV, it really gives you time to reconnect with yourself and each other. The breakfast is something to look forward to, it's always so good.

Stayed the weekend of the Xmas tree lighting, it was our 10 year anniversary. Loved it so much! The staff was so friendly and nice. The breakfast in the morning was very good. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. We plan on getting a honeymoon suite in the near future. If your going to stay in Julian and need a hotel, this is the hotel book at.

This is a great place to stay right in the middle of town. It's an easy walk to all the restaurants and shops on main street. We stayed in the honeymoon cottage which has a nice living room in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, although we usually had to wait a little while to be seated. Not a problem. We weren't in a hurry. The staff was always friendly, helpful and accomodating. There's no TV but they have an ample supply of board games in the parlor. This hotel is a great place to relax and unwind. My only complaint is the bathroom is a little too "historic." The toilet is tiny, the sink is tiny and the clawfoot tub/shower has no place to hang up your towel or set down your soap. Despite this, we would stay here again the next time we have the opportunity.

We have visited twice in the last five years and really love this place. Rooms are small and dated (cozy and historic), but so is Julian, which makes it great for a weekend get away for good food and shopping. The staff is awesome, the breakfast is always great, and Julian is a lot of fun (we love the Julian garage, the Julian cafe and all the soap places, Romano’s, and the cider mill, as well as the Julian brewery which is new.). We’d love to go again in the future.
